Two people shot to death on Boone Avenue

Two people were found shot dead inside a car parked on the side of Boone Avenue Friday night.
According to Baton Rouge police, Brandi Gilbert, 23, of 6912 Hickory Creek, Plano, Texas and Corrin Rayford, 23, of 2805 Mustang Drive, Grapevine, Texas were shot around 11:00 p.m. on the 8100 block of Boone Avenue.
What the hell? That's a long way from Texas
There are no known suspects at this time, police said.

That's close to staring lane. Not the most desirable area of town these days.

Actually Boone and Staring is pretty nice. Nothing on Boone is bad besides the construction right now
That is dead in the center of Magnolia Woods which is a great neighborhood right next to Kenilworth. 6-7 blocks from Staring

I agree. Violent crime like this rarely happens in this neighborhood.

8100 Boone is at Boone and Albert heart, right between kenilworth and magnolia woods.

This isn't Staring and Burbank or Gardere.
Magnolia Wood is a very desirable area. Great home values. Good schools. Safe neighborhood.
It's not Bocage or UC or CCLA but it's definitely desirable.

It's a nice area in general with maybe a few bad homes here and there. I grew up in this area and never remember anything like this happening. Definitely an outlier incident.

If I had to guess, something drug related where this car pulled into the area from staring. No relation to anyone who lives in this neighborhood. Who knows.

I know people that live in that area. It's a really good neighborhood but it's unfortunately located near a not so good neighborhoood which from time to time spills over into the good area. Probably what happened in this case.
Friend that lived in that neighborhood said the 2010 home invasion you are referring to was supposedly drug related. At least that's what the word was around Magnolia Woods.
