Would break me in half. She probably cleans up good though.

those two are sociopaths. I am pretty sure they wont label them as that at such a young age but you know they are.

If she can look halfway decent in a cop uniform, she is doing alright..

Look up the Shanda Sherer murders. (Not sure the name is spelled right but should get you close) This happened in my area several years ago. The girls involved were older than 12 but what they did to that little girl was unbeleivable.
Holy shite. The sad thing is, all 4 of those girls are still alive now. One is released, three others are due to be released by 2020. How is that justice? We live in such a bullshite society sometimes. They should have be shot in the head and buried.

First of all I regret reading about Shanda Sharer. Damn...
But seriously, these kids are twelve. You cannot say a child is an adult any more than you can say an apple is an orange. It just isn't true.

There has to be some data out there, or a study or 2 that shows minors(13 & under) who've committed violent crimes, and their recidivism rate into adulthood.

Read the article. Their legal counsel will ask for mental evaluations which the Judge will grant in efforts to dot "I's" amd cross "T's" as there will be an appeal regardless of the direction the case goes.
Not sure how that state's law reads about how young a minor can be charged as an adult. However, given the magnitude and premeditation of the act, it would be appropriate if allowed.
The kids have got some issues, but seem to be moreso related to personality disorders instead of anything with psychotic features. The other issue is that at age 12, they are not able to appreciate the finality of ending a life.
I would not recommend that the kids be placed in a forensic hospital per se, as there will eventually be an attempt to work them back out in the community within 10 to 15 years on some sort of civil commitment.
Obviously, no one is going to execute a 12 year old kid. The higher level courts won't allow it.
My initial thoughts based solely on the article I read would be sentencing in such a manner that the kids are remanded to a juvenile detention center and transferred to an adult female detention center when they reach the age of majority. Probably looking at 20 to 25 years total and that would not include "time for good behavior", which would lessen the sentence somewhat.
Given that the kids are all minors, the parents are still responsible for what the kids do. That said, the victim's parents could successfully sue the other two sets of parents for damages - probably payable through homeowner's insurance.
Very sordid incident.

Why not? This actually sounds like the best course of action.

If I remember right I think the oldest of those girls was maybe 17. Beat and burned that girl and left her on the side of the road. I just dont see how kids that young could do that.

Other part of my statement.
"there will eventually be an attempt to work them back out in the community within 10 to 15 years on some sort of civil commitment."
Girls impress as conduct disordered - aggressive. They appear to have anti-social personalities, just not old enough to call them sociopaths. Normally, the prognosis for treatment efforts for antisocial personality disorders are not that great.
