5.7 vs 4.6. What dollar value would assign to the liter difference?

Depends on what you want to do with the truck

Right now, tow a boat. 18' bow rider, but may upgrade in year or two.

The 4.6 won't pull the drawers off of a sick whore. If you going to pull a boat that big go for the 5.7.

Go with the 5.7. I pulled a 26' regulator for 3 years with that truck. Never any problems.

I have the 4.6, and tow a 21ft bay boat. It tows fine, but my wife's Armada with the 5.6L engine pulls better.
Get the 5.7

What in the frick is a 'daw'?

The 4.6 probably has enough balls to pull a decent boat, but that rear end won't.
You'll do better exploring the rear end options.

Thanks fellas....you confirmed what I was thinking....not sure if I should be worried.

The 5.7 is absolutely worth the money over the 4.6.
For reference, I have a Tundra with the 5.7 and a GX 460 with the 4.6.
In my opinion, the 4.6 is just adequate but not at all great in the GX. It would be inadequate in the Tundra.
There's a reason most Tundras you see have the 5.7.
Both motors are now a generation behind their competitors, but at least the 5.7 is such a hoss that, other than gas mileage, you can't tell.

True. They are behind on fuel economy but fast as Frick and strong. I've owned dodge (hemi and Cummings) and a F150. I've never actually enjoyed driving a truck as much as my tundra.

Be advised the 5.7 takes almost 8 quarts of synthetic oil.

True, but the change interval is also 10,000 miles

This thread got interesting in an unexpected way.

the 5.7 is superior for towing, but will get 3-4 less mpg overall.

You should be ashamed of yourself for considering a Japanese Truck over an American Truck built in Mexico
Posted on 8/8/15 at 9:50 pm to Prix560
Should go with 5.7
But nothing matters except putting this on your truck...
