They're too busy checking your a-hole to find any contraband.

There was an expose on those x-ray machines by a former TSA agent who showed just how easy it was to sneak firearms through and that it was a massive invasion of privacy since they get to check out everyone's dick.

I'm sure this is 100% legit and not a scheme to get more funding/legislation through. I mean c'mon, the DHS was testing the TSA and publishes the results. This reeks of some good ol' fear mongering.

I'm with you, but there would be a huge outcry if something happened and it was later discovered that they kept quiet about these failed tests. Hopefully shining a spotlight on the issue will at least raise the TSA's alertness and let the higher-ups know that in light of the failed tests their asses are on the line if something happens.

Ha Ha. You are applying private industry standards to the government. Let me explain how it goes.

1. Incident happens
2. Congress holds partisan committee hearings where they try to point the finger at each other
3. Responsible administrators show up and blatantly lie under oath
4. Public pays attention for maybe five minutes
5. Responsible administrators suspend one or two underlings that had nothing to do with incident
6. Administrators congratulate each other and sign each other up for cash bonuses
7. Nothing changes and they retire with fat pensions.
8. Profit???

Meh, I fail at roughly 96% of my job. Nobody seems to notice. I'd be a hypocrite to expect more from those guys.

Nobody who has worked in a federal office would find this even mildly surprising.

Yea, that's why I said "hopefully." Without a doubt when the government runs an entity, like the post office for example, it's a shite show and it seems like no one's feet get held to the fire.

Taking a LucasP comment seriously is just one step below the people that cite the onion as a real source

Cowardly? I'll disagree. I think it requires courage for a man to admit his short comings. The cowards would be these "perfect" people criticizing the TSA and their efforts. Sounds like you need a long hard look in the mirror.

Me and a fellow Marine made it to the gate during a test at Baton Rouge. They made us go through again because we made it through. They even knew we were the ones that were the plants. We were pretty convincing apparently.
