On my last trip to Oregon, I got a drive-by "Geaux Tigers" in downtown Portland, a "Geaux Tigers" in a local Olive Garden and I delivered a "Geaux Tigers" in the airport on the way home.
LSU fans are every-fricking-where.

Free yourself man. Stop caring about what others think.

The area of the Jordan river we were in was third world down both sides. We navigated a small, heavily guarded road that had huge mine fields on both sides of the road. There wasn't any partying going on.

I have noticed this, but I think it's fun to see what people are affiliated with...and it can lead to quick talking buddy/friend while traveling.

I wear mine. I have run into LSU fans all over the world, and it is cool to talk with them in airports while killing time. For anyone else who worries about what I wear: IDGAF. Find something else to occupy your time with or turn your head the other way.

If people aren't wearing their LSU gear, I don't know who I should yell, "That's a Geaux Tigers" at while I'm on vacation.

I prefer wearing AU gear outside of the south more than in it.
I lived in Dallas before A&M became an SEC member (1984-2010). I wore LSU gear way more often than I do now that I'm back in Louisiana.

Since LSU has such shitty colors I guess it makes it worse. I mean, wearing a red shirt with a Alabama or Georgia logo on it wouldn't be so bad I guess. Purple and gold is just crap. Purple shirts are kinda tacky. Not to even mention gold shirts
I am not even an LSU fan or anything, and I think they have the best color combination in the SEC and maybe in all of FBS schools.
As for the OP, I saw loads and loads of Washington, Wazzu, and (especially) Oregon crap on people all the time when I lived in the PNW not very long ago. Washington sucked arse then, too. The only area of the country where I don't see a fair amount of it is the Northeast.

I'm an LSU grad in New York who thinks his shite don't stink, and some of the most important decisions I make are which hat to wear to the airport. Do I want the people at JFK to see that I'm an LSU grad or do I want the people at MSY to know that I'm a Mets fan?

I was in London wearing a fleece with an LSU logo. Had two interesting conversations as a result.
Some young suit-and-tie Brit guys were drinking in front of a pub after work when one fellow asked me. "LSU. Aren't they like one of the most successful American football teams?" We went from there. He actually watches some of the SEC games on TV and was fairly knowledgeable.
Two girls in a pub--one English and the other Australian--needed seats, so we invited them to join us at our table. The Australian girl had friends in New Orleans, and they had taken her to a game at Tiger Stadium, complete with tailgating.

Bruh, I would not say I'm trashy while wearing my TCU Peter Millar polo and Branson & Smathers needlepoint belt...

It's only trashy if you're an Ole Miss fan.

I love repping LSU when I travel. Always bring an LSU shirt or two.

I'm not sure what's so cool about hearing a random "GEAUX TIGERS" in a different city

It's cool if you're an LSU fan.

Honestly don't care what people wear, but I can literally strike up a conversation or vice verses with any sports fan based off their school shirt. It's fun. I travel a lot for work.

Getting a Geaux Tigers abroad is always fun. It happens pretty much everywhere: Aruba, Paris, Banff.
