Unlike when you get caught fair and square from a cop, these civil penalty violation are nothing more than a municipality cash grab and they have absolutely nothing to do with safety. Not paying them is my own personal tea party.

I think that refers to tickets that are actually written and given to you by human beings, not cameras.

Hahah. No, not at all.

Does your ticket have a 'pay by date' on it? Yes it does. If you don't pay it by that date, a bench warrant will be issued in your name for non-payment. Then you'll have to pay an extra $50 on top of the aforementioned violation.

You can be as stubborn as you'd like and think that it doesn't apply to a camera violation, but it does.

Don't hate the messenger. You asked a question. I simply responded with the correct details.

That's your decision.

I've been down the bench warrant path with EBRP, it's not fun and in hindsight, I should have just paid on time and never thought about it again.

watched a BR cop at a light watch another car blow through an intersection running the redlight and the cop went about his business like it didn't happen.

they aren't concerned with "public safety", if anyone cared.

Bench warrants are only issued when you have a notice to appear in an actual court. If you fail to appear, a warrant is issued. With red light/speed camera tickets, you are simply given a date to pay a civil fine. There are no criminal implications at all and you are not formally served with notice to appear anywhere. In New Orleans at least, the worst that can happen is you get booted.

Ways to pay your ticket: If your date has not passed, most (but not all) tickets can be paid online. A credit card or check may be used for online payment.
Pay your tickets online: The traffic ticket payment system will allow you to pay for your traffic tickets as long as the offense DOES NOT require the offender to make a court appearance and the court appearance date has not passed.

Please note that failure to appear or to pay timely will result in the issuance of a warrant for your arrest, withdrawal of your driving privileges, and the assessment of additional penalty fees.

Edit: Legitimately taken from the EBR Sheriffs Office, regarding traffic tickets.

I have at least 3 red light tickets I've never paid. Some as old as 6 years old. Been pulled over multiple times since. Not once have I been arrested. I've had background checks done. I slice again nothing came back. No hits to my credit. You sir are wrong

Yes I know I'm a shitty driver and I'm horrible with the English language.

Maybe the rules are different in Texas, and I don't feel like looking up the OP Ordinance (unless I can figure out a way to bill for it). But in the OPP, ain't no warrants.......

You need to pay closer attention to what you are reading. You're still wrong about the warrant.
