"Japanese automaker Toyota says it is cooperating with the U.S. Treasury Department's inquiry into the acquisition of its vehicles by Mideast terror groups.

Over the years, Toyota cars, such as the Toyota Hilux pick-up truck, have appeared in many ISIS propaganda videos. But how the terror group has acquired the trucks is not clear. They are sold in Iraq."

There was a thread here recently where a large number of people said the Toyota's were the most durable trucks of that size.

Wasn't there a thread here a while back where a plumber saw his truck on CNN after he sold it and the dealership never took off his decals? Cost him a lot of business IIRC.

Those trucks are damn near bulletproof. Probably got them from the Saudis.

The first thing that comes to mind here is a way to remotely disable the vehicles when they are known to be used by turrists. (43-speak)

Possibly something that would allow fingerprinting and GPS positioning/ locating?

I heard that Toyota was coming out with a new 1500 Afghani Tundra in 2016. It comes with luxuries such as rear RPG camera, Blownstar, and an extended cab large enough for 72 virgins.

Those Hilux are popular because they're super reliable, sold all over the world (but here), people know how to work on them and parts easy to get.

Sucks we can't get it here.

It's bullshite that we can't get them here. All over some EPA/ highways safety bs. There is prolly some conspiracy with ford and GM to keep them along with other diesel stuff out
