Before we were married, 20+ years ago, she had a BMW, what a money pit. We traded it for a bathroom upgrade with a local contractor who did an outstanding job. He got the raw end of that deal. He quoted us 6.5K for it, and asked us if we would 'trade' the car for the job after driving it. Needless to say we didn't hesitate.

Own a 2015 limited & couldn't be happier.
Get 3rd row, I didn't get it on my 15 but had it on my previous 2012. I go to the range every weekend & the non 3rd row 2015 annoys the shite out of my when laying the seats down. That's teally my only complaint. I'll be buying another 4Runner if I like the future redesign, if I don't like the redesign I'll gladly keep my 2015.

I personally like the styling of the 4th gen 4runners (2003-2009) better than the 5th gen.

I have an older one and used to have a 2013. The ride is meh, but I modify the suspension in damned near everything anyways.

The 01 I have has 175k miles on it and drives like new.

Only got rid of the 2013 because my wife pointed out we had two nearly new vehicles in the driveway that sat 5-6 days a week. Sold it, her car, and one of the old geo trackers and kept my xterra, her 4runner, and the rubicon.

Resale value on the toyotas made me quite a bit of coin.

Have a 2015 SR5 Premium. Love it! Only thing I don't like is no automatic lift gate in my model.

Why is it relevant to talk about spending 70k?

4 Runners are bad arse. Go drive one. It's highly dependable... everyone knows that about Toyotas.

Why are we here?

I have a 2014 and love it. It can be a little difficult to drive in high wind and rain but it's not an everyday issue. And the poster that said the navigation system isn't that great is right, I still use my Garmin whenever I'm going somewhere Im completely unfamiliar with.

Based on what you said, I think you're making a good choice. Holds value well and extremely dependable. I have a 2012 trail with 130k on the odometer and zero issues outside of factory suggested maintenance.

I agree with the others, the trail is overkill for a DD. I upgraded to a trail because I wanted the KDSS suspension, which at the time was only available on the Trail and Limited.

There's at least 1 "should I buy a 4Runner" thread every freaking week!

Idk about wind, but if you have an suv you should run general grabber at2s, cooper at3s, or duratracs if you don't mind the noise.

Other tires last longer, but those three are awesome in the rain. Duratracs are even morw awesome in the snow.

I love 4runners. My family has had them for years. You can beat the hell out them and they just keep going on. I still drive a '99 SR5 with 212K miles on it and it runs great.

I know someone who still drives a 98 4Runner with more than 400k miles on it. You won't find a more dependable SUV out there.

Thanks for the advice. I still have the original tires that were on it when I bought it, Dunlop I'm pretty sure. I had already planned on a different brand when it comes time to replace them, but it's good to have an idea about what to get.
