I would travel to Europe in the winter.
If you both ski, then yes. If not, then maybe Spain in Winter. It's still cold but like El Paso cold, not horrible.

Many European historical sites and museums are either closed or on short hours during Winter.

I did not ski and all the historical sites I wanted to see in each respected city were open. The weather was hit or miss though. I first got into Istanbul and it was hit by a blizzard the day before. Which was okay because I was only there for 18 hours. 5 days in Prague were nice, temp was in mid 50's during the day, 40's at night. Vienna, Salzburg and Munich was about the same with only 1 day of snow I think. Budapest was cloudy and gray, temp was down in the 30's for a few days. I ended the trip back in Istanbul for a few days in Mid March and the weather was AMAZING 70's during the day and 50's at night.

We did Key West for about 2500.00 It was wonderful. But then it was March and we live in Illinois. We thought we died and went to heaven with 80 degree days. Seriously, it is a great time. Good luck!

You guy's recommending Europe gotta remember his budget is 3k for 2 people, 3k will barely cover their airfare.

Even going to ny, Boston or sf will be cutting it close to your budget as lodging and airfare will be around 2k providing you are going 5 nights or more and will be staying in a 2* place or better.

Off season Airfare is reasonable, especially if you have some time to make odd or time-consuming connections.

For example, next month (the beginning of high season) the cheapest Non-Stop fares from NYC to Frankfurt on weekend travel dates are $1,400-ish Round Trip. That's a seven or eight hour direct flight. If you have a day to travel going each way, Aeroflot will take you for around $800 RT. Your route to go to Germany is from JFK to Moscow or St. Petersburg and then on to Frankfurt and the reverse to return. It takes you 20+ hours each way with the connection but that's $1,200 dollars saved for two travelers.

The bad thing is due to the strictly restrictive travel regulations of Russia, you can't leave the Airport during your layovers. Aeroflot is desperate for Western currency. I won't fly on their aircraft.

This pricing dynamic is true often during Low Season as well, admittedly maybe not as dramatic.

I'd never go to an all-inclusive, so I'm no help there, but we did San Fran for 5th and loved it. We lived there before getting married, but we were on the Ocean Beach side of town. When we went back for our fifth we stayed in the Garden Orchard hotel and that area of town is awesome for walking around. It's at the gates of China town, Coit tower is in walking distance, the ferry building...and food can be very reasonably priced. You can spend a mint there too.

go to san fran, carmel, monterrey and napa. You could do a week trip and bounce around all over that area.
