It's odd how Denver is literally one of the only destinations ever posted here, the other 20% of the time it is Hawaii, and maybe 5% of the time Austin.

tons
heading out for a road ride now, good weather.
like someone said, hiking on numerous trails between Boulder and Golden. Great mountain biking all around. Pretty good rock climbing/bouldering in Eldorado Canyon, North Table mtn. (Golden) and in Clear Creek Canyon.
Pearl St in Boulder for people watching.
Great places to eat.

I was just about to come here asking about Denver... I have two applications for jobs up there.

As a sports fan, it seems like it'll be a perfect fit for me in that respect.

Any people here live there and can give some more insight on what it's like up there?

This. Also Dushanbe tea house in Boulder and Snooze in Denver. You won't regret it.

Moved to Colorado in '88. Live in Golden, a train ride from Denver. So many things to list. Living in Denver is pretty easy. I have co workers that live in and around Denver, and they love it. As you said, plenty of sports activities, pro teams to watch. Too many things to list. I'll try to respond later. What kind of jobs? Where? That may guide your housing search.

I spent ten years in Boulder. It's about as good as it gets. Great weather, lots of free stuff to do outdoors, lots of sports, concerts, ridiculously foodie, farmers markets, great civic pride, bike paths, safe, good schools, etc. The only negative might be the Liberal Preachiness if that kind of stuff bothers you. And it's expensive. But lifestyle-wise/Quality of life-wise it's my favorite spot .

I worked in Denver for those ten years and thought it was great too, but since I'm a Boulder guy-I'll let a Denverite answer that. Denver people love to hate on Boulder and vice versa.

I work in the News industry so it'd be at one of the TV stations (KUSA and KCSC are where I've applied), I mean from everything I've heard its an amazing city to live in

I gotcha, I fully expect to pay more if I get to move there, but at this point I'm pretty sure anywhere I move will be a step up from living in BR

I moved from Boulder to Baton Rouge and I assure you that is not sensible in any respect. In fact it's almost clinically insane.

Head to LoDo in Denver. Plenty of bars, restaurants and sights to see. Wynkoop Brewing Co is pretty good and you can tour the brewery. As is Euclid Hall. Blake St tavern is great place to go if you want to catch a game.

Best decision I've ever made was to move to Boulder from BR a couple of years ago. I've never had a problem with any "Liberal Preachiness". We love it here and can't imagine living anywhere else.

Housing prices are pretty ridiculous in Denver. I have a friend who is a realtor there and said the inventory of homes for sale is the lowest it's been in 30 years.
