I went to school in New Orleans and many of my classes had no air conditioning, just open windows. These schools have AC. What are these people crying about?

Did you also walk 5 miles uphill every day to get there?

hey third person funny guy, this idea has nothing to do with less days of school, just a mere shift on the calender.

Arizona already started high school last week. It's the middle of July.

Yea, but that isn't real heat. 120 F is like 65 F in La.

Scruffy, I hate any kind of heat so I'll complain about it regardless

I remember one day in San Antonio when it was 101/94% humidity. That is equivalent to 115+ in Arizona in my opinion ugh. But that wetness was EVERYWHERE unless you went inside. Arizonians just need a dot of shade.

Honestly, our school year is too short. We average 180 days. That needs to be at least 30 days longer.

On top of that, school should start an hour later and end an hour later.

Being involved in school board process in past years even BESE. I can tell you now that this has come up many times in the past and in the 80's in certain parishes School was pushed to first week in Sep. for heat reasons. It was common even in the late 70's that school was first day of Sept. Over the years that has been forgotten or pushed aside for other needs and school start times have slowly crept toward early August again.

I was kinda kidding.

There is a difference, but it isn't as insane as people make it out to be.

I could see having a modified PE with the heat or indoor PE, but to delay the whole school year seems dumb.

Completely out of control. Our education scores reflect that as well, ISO.

You don't need a week for Easter. People will shite on Scruffy for this, but you don't need a week for Mardi Gras either.

Never considered that. Probably a factor.

Teacher pay would likely go up if they worked more also.

If even one 300 lb. Tangi Mom is encouraged to stay inside her trailer for another few weeks, I'm for this.
