Drank a couple beers and smoked a joint with him, outside the purple porpoise(early 90's) in Gainesville.
Was a very laid back, cool dude.

Indeed. His music meant a great deal to me. I used to joke with my fiance that I wanted a Petty cover band at the wedding. One of the best songwriters and musicians ever.
