I see nothing strange about this.

possibly attributable to their discipline, Japanese are some of the most rigid, racist people you'll ever run across, they believe that they are the divine, chosen race, and look down on everyone else, especially a Japanese that has tainted the race, but they can keep their game face on for as long as it takes, if they think you're transient

I am heading to Toyko for work for a month. I will not have much free time, but just curious what are some of the must see attractions.
Any other tips or suggestions would be appreciated as well.

Go to the Tsukiji Fish Market. If you do go, make sure to get there by 5 am. check out this website for more info. We love Fish!

Visit the Meiji Shrine. You'll be impressed.

Go out for dinner and drinks in Ebisu.

I've been living here for 18+ years so what I say matters.

My guess is you've never left the safe confines of home. Still living with mommy and daddy?

well you're an idiot then.

20-25 times a year? You must live on an airplane, or you're lying.

My buddy went for work and spent 3 months.

He said it is ridiculously clean. And this was just a couple months after the tsunami. Do NOT frick up and put trash in recycle bins or vice versa.

He said that was a big fricking deal when a guy screwed it up.

Women in a Japan are of the sluttiest cut, if Asians are your thing. They are scandalous vixens, cheating at the drop of the hat, and they love white boys. Japanese men have micro dongs and have become ultra effeminate.

Come back with a story. It better be free.

Never been outside of the airport but I've heard it is a city that is nearly impossible to get around without getting lost unless you've been there a while.

I have a nephew who lives in Japan as well as a girl cousin (she's the Tokyo correspondent for the WSJ). Both of them are fluent and read & write Japanese. You need a minder like them if you go anywhere other than Downtown Tokyo. The Mikasa in Yokosuka was for me a must-see. Kyoto is beautiful, riding the primo Shinkansen (bullet trains) is OT-boss worthy. I got down to Hiroshima (numbing), Kagoshima (cool) and Yakushima (stupefyingly beautiful).

Japan is a nation of about 99.99% Type A folks. Even most of the Elvis impersonators are Type As. Errybody plays by what they think are the rules. All cars are new and clean. Cab drivers are no help unless you speak Japanese. The subways must be seen and experienced during rush hour to be believed. Downtown Tokyo is very walkable, most Japanese women are very wary of a single Western male.

Sorry for the shotgun blast, I love it there.

Oh yeah, bring plenty plenty money. Go to a KFC there, they have items not on the menu in Iowa. Kabuki theater in Tokyo.

Before you go, practice some common Japanese phrases. You'll be surprised at how Japanese warm up to someone who makes the effort to learn their language.

Great advise, holds true with the Italians too.

I posted this In the hamster pic obsession thread a few days back.

Japan has some large scale social issues, including a glut of males that have virtually withdrawn from masculine nature which is rapidly becoming an ultra effeminate, non-producing drain on their system, leaving many young females without marriage prospects. Teen and college aged boys holding tea party's, dressing up dolls and shite, lol. Some of you might consider looking to Tokyo for your spouse, you will probably get a hot one.

I read some shite somewhere that discussed this topic. Apparently here having issues in labor circles where the salaryman has said frick it, I'm going to be a chick, amidst evolving dynamics of women in the labor pool
