Wife has a 2014 Q7 S-line with the 21" wheels. 21 is an odd size. Car has 14 k on it now, I don't see these making it to 20k. Doesn't help that every that the cheapest tires on Tire Rack to fit it are $350 each. But damn it looks good LOL

My Corvette tires are shot at 20K, esp the rears.
I think the Jag is gonna be the same way. It's worth it, though.

I have a summer set and a winter set for the Audi. I'll probably have to replace the summers next year and the winters the year after that.

You just built a $200K outdoor kitchen and pool, now you want to call warranty on a $600 set of tires ??

Who exactly has to follow someone that starts weekly threads about the drama in their everyday lives ? Just giving the man the attention he desires with his threads .. I doubt he starts them to be the only post in them...

I'm flattered.

I don't have the answer to your questions, but do have a few observations and thoughts...
1. a set of tires wearing out in only 25,000 miles is not acceptable and really not totally believeable without some kind of alignment problem...I would bet that the dealership is pushing some new tires a little prematurely and if you have a good look at the tires, there is some life left...
2. you would have to go to the place that sold you the tires in the first place, as they have doccumentation of the tire serial numbers as well as the mileage that was on the vehicle when the tires were installed...
3. as chad says, tire warranties typically don't replace the tires, but prorate based on the amount of mileage that the tires came up short of the warranty. this is similar to how battery warrantys work and really don't give you much money off the replacements...they basically just serve to make you use the same manufacturer/installer for the replacement set....

I agree, but after visiting two separate places, 25K miles for the type of tire that came with the vehicle is "pretty good" for this type of tire (Toyo).
When getting new tires this past weekend, I had them check the alignment. No issues there and no allignment needed.

I'd rather error on the side of caution, as I have my three most important people in the world to me that use this vehicle regularly.

As much as I hate the Walton empire, Sam's Club has been (for me) a good place to shop for tires.

must be a really soft rubber compound...

That's what I was told about the Toyo Proxies ...
The new set of Michelin's should last us much longer.

Tires wear according to the type of compound of rubber. Typically summer tires or high performance tires made for adhesion have lower tread wear ratings. The ratings are according to a formula set by the NHTSA as driven on their test track. The numbers tire makers come up with are by their interpretation, not hard fact so to be used as a guideline.
The brand is not as important as finding what you want as a consumer. I go for comfort, low noise, and tire wear, all of which take away from ultimate performance because the longer lasting compound doesn't stick as well, which is fine for me.
I go to discount tire direct, treadepot, tire rack for the options and pricing. Discount has free shipping and no sales tax, treadepot has deals on occasion for both, tire rack because it has a warehouse in louisiana charges sales tax and shipping, but tires can be picked up in SHV if you are able waiving the cost there as well.
Depending on deals and availability I've used all three with good results. Last month I found tire rack had best deal on tires for my M3 so went that route. All will ship directly to an installer as well.
Hope that helps, I buy a fair amount of tires for my collection, kids, and friends so my two cents on the subject.
One last note as well, if you have staggered tire sizes (vette, M3, Jag XK series, 350z etc.) the rears wear more rapidly, also Porsche 911 or mid engine like the NSX,cars eat up rears with zeal. I try to stay away from unidirectional tires seem to make more noise as they wear and rotating is a pain in some instances.
