Thinking about doing a 3-4 night trip to NO with the wife early next year. We are both pretty unfamiliar with the city. What are some good places to stay (possibly B&B type/non-hotel) around a lot of activities? I'd like to go to the WWII Museum, possibly a Pelicans game, walking around the quarter, etc.

Check out the Pyrtania Park Hotel.

It's in the Lower Garden District, easy walk to the WWII Musuem, and you can catch the streetcar or an Uber to the quarter. Or walk, it's not really that far.

Check out Vrbo.com and you'll find what you're looking for.

My wife and I always stay at the Windsor Court. There rooms are much bigger.

There are several B&B type places in the Lower Garden District (near downtown) as well as in the French Quarter.

I like to stay in Kenner when I visit. Cheaper and more to do, but you can still go to New Orleans if you like that sort of thing.

You definitely want to stay somewhere in Westwego. Convenient to downtown but very scenic and lovely in its own right.

Downtown Hilton
Omni
Downtown Marriot

These are all in the business district just outside the quarter. The hotels are newer with larger rooms. Hotels in the Quarter are old, small, and have thin walls. You'll sleep much better in a modern hotel.
