Doesn't seem like a good idea. How much those folks make I wonder? I've used them before instead of regular cab and like it. Do they stay out of certain areas or just know the city so well, seems like they would be sitting ducks here.

ETA: I enjoy using them

Just don't think it would be a good idea to work for one

Leave the passenger to fend for himself and run. Seems like the perfect plan. You dont have to be faster than the bear, you just have to be faster than the guy next to you.

I met pedi-cab Jesus one day during Mardi gras and he saved my life.

A shitty cab drops me off WAY WAY in the ghetto when he found out roads were closed. I'm drunk and in a rediculous costume. I was a walking target, and some locals were quickly following me down a side street. Out of nowhere, pedicab jesus, flowing blonde hair, godly physique, pulls up next to me and says "hop in bro, you're on the wrong side of town."

Takes me to my friends, then doesn't charge me.

I'm not convinced he wasn't actually an angel.

Why didn't I think of that. A ride and get your toe nails done. Brilliant

Yeah, I laugh about it today, but I was in a dangerous spot. The guys had followed me for two turns and were catching up.

Last time I ever took a cab in that city.

I had the opposite happen to me. I some how ended up in the ghetto, piss drunk, with a sexy blonde sorority sloot who was more drunk than me. A cab pulls up out of no where and says get in. You will get killed here. Took us back to my hotel and didn't charge us. She then proceeds to throw up in the elevator and then again on my passed out buddy, but that's another story.

I remember a couple of years ago when a pedicab driver was clubbed and had his pedicab stolen right near the intersection of poydras and st Charles.

And we would have gotten away with it too, had it not been for that meddling kid, pedi-cab Jesus.

One of the pedicab drivers was at a bar I was at last week for happy hour. He was bitching about only having made $15 that day. Yikes.

I got your point. I loved riding in one a summer night in the FQ couple years ago.
It's a neat experience to cruise down one of the FQ streets with the breeze in your face and taking in the sights especially at night.

However, I would feel ultra-exposed aka sitting duck as a driver of one of those. They should NOT take cash and only use them square devices for payment with cc or smartphone. IDK how else they stay safe. Any stats on this?
