Im in the pro gay marriage camp but...
leads to entrenchment and helps marginalize any valid viewpoint you may express afterwards. It shows a striking lack of ability to coherently argue your point

Agree with me or you are retarded. Classic libtard philosophy. Why don't you stop botching for a while and go make your boyfriend a sandwich

You have a point. But this is Tigerdroppings. I'm not presenting my case to congress.

If those are his notes, he's not going to win the debate.

I'm not liberal. Haven't voted democrat the last few years. Some people are capable of forming their own views on various topics instead of a platform promoted by one party. It's true.

The denizens of this board won't want to hear it, but it's true

Yeah OP def ain't getting an A in that class

That's all well and good, but is there a protected right to it under the US Constitution?
Or doesn't whether two dudes get married fall under the state's traditional police powers (i.e., you don't have a right to be drunk and disorderly in public, e.g.)?
Because it seems to me that if all the bros who set up the constitution had been asked whether they were limiting a state's right to restrict marriage to just a woman and a man, they would have said absolutely not.

I've seen your posts. I highly doubt you have any idea of the quality needed for an A in any class.

Every argument against it is completely retarded. Oh, it's against your religion? I'm sorry to hear that. I also didn't know if you know this, but this country doesn't have a national religion which we form laws off of. So that really has no merit as an argument against it from a legality standpoint. Additionally, pretty ironic that you're not up in arms over any other sins. Adultery, sex before marriage, binge drinking- no problem with these things being legal? Ah yeah, good point, these are just the sins you like to do.
What about the "where does it end?" argument. People are going to start marrying chairs and dogs!!! Rabble rabble. I wonder if people said this about women and African-Americans when they wanted equal rights. "Yeah I mean women should probably be able to vote, but then do we allow horses to vote? I mean where does it end." Well we could put in some sort of clause to determine where to draw this line, that you fear so much. Maybe a law that says it must be two humans, unrelated to each other (sorry Bama) with the legal capacity to make decisions for themselves, I.E consenting age and mental awareness. You know, the same rules we have for contracts, which is what marriage essentially is.
From a legal standpoint, you have no argument. You can disagree with it from a morality view, but that really won't affect you. Is God going to punish you for not being gay, but being on the same planet as people who are, and treating them nicely? Seems like a sweet guy to plan your life around.
Your best argument would just be to tell the truth. Just say you're homophobic, or retarded, or a few decades behind the times with your views.
Everything you said is correct, but it wont go over well here.
