If we have one word of advice to every single person on the roadways today it is to watch this video and absorb all of the information that lies within.

Seriously, if you’re one of those people traveling slowly in the left lane and inhibiting the natural flow of traffic, there’s a good chance that everyone on the roadways probably hates you.

This time, we check out a video that attempts to tell all about why driving in the left lane and blocking traffic isn’t only annoying but also unsafe and can cause accidents.

Check out the clip below and educate yourself on this matter that not many are even aware is a problem. Someone has to spread the word because these habits are downright wrong!

Oddly enough Louisiana is on the "strict" list.

We've had this thread before and there are idiots here that will act like it's their job to enforce the speed limit by driving in the left lane and not moving when they have the opportunity.

slow left lane drivers who cause accidents should be charged for attempted murder.

I don't get it. Slow lane drivers are annoying as frick, but it's not their fault that idiots frick up when speeding excessively.

because you don't own that lane. and neither do i. if either of us are driving slower than someone behind us, it is our duty to yield that lane to them.

it's a very simple concept.

and i don't care what you drive, how much you paid for it, or how important you may think you are.

Completely agree; however, if a car is in the act of passing and somebody driving faster tries to pass on the right then proceeds to cut them off and cause an accident is it really the slow cars fault? I'm not talking about the slow drivers getting over a mile early to pass a semi either.

I wholeheartedly agree with the premise of the video; however I also disagree with the Louisiana law that states everyone on the road has to to remain in the right lane unless they are passing another vehicle or preparing to perform certain other driving maneuvers. This law, combined with the speeding law is extremely unsafe for drivers. Can you imagine the clusterfrick if everyone actually obeyed speeding laws and also obeyed the ridiculous 'remain in the right lane' law? So basically if traffic is going the speed limit the law states that everyone HAS to remain in the right lane and can't pass or get into another lane, so traffic is reduced to one lane which is fricking ridiculous.

Virginia state certified drivers ed classes teach you to drive with the flow of traffic, not the speed limit. If the overall flow of traffic is 10 mph over the speed limit, cops wont give speeding tickets because its actually safer that everyone is going the same speed.

But if you go 25mph over the speed limit its a wreckless driving charge, and a minimum $2500 fine. Same if you get caught doing over 80mph. But the DUI fine is only $1500...

not everyone feels the need to do 70mph even if thats the speed limit. Its the "limit" not the required.

That video is terrible, it should be called "don't pass in the median" because that is what happened. The idiot driving the car didn't have the patience to wait for a window and tried to pass in the median which ultimately caused the accident. Not driving in the left lane slowly.

Agreed. I hate people that refuse to get over.

It seems like people from Texas that drive in Louisiana are especially bad about moving over.

These rules only very loosely apply when there's heavy traffic in both lanes. Remember that assholes. No one can go anywhere any faster

You are part of the problem FWIW.

If someone is going faster than you, get in the right lane. If you are going faster than the person in front of you, get over in the left, pass them, then get back into the right. Its really not that hard.
