Lies I tell you......lies. My running shorts have pockets up by the waist band so that I don't have crap banging around my knees. My cycling shorts don't even have pockets, they put them in the shirt because it would f**k up pedaling.
As for what shorts actually look good
Boom..... it isn't that hard. If I want to frat it up a bit more, I'll drop that inseam some. But I get that's not everyone's style. But you get any longer than this (to be honest it's a bit long for me) or add any of your ridiculous pockets, and you look goofy.

When you have a 12-hour shift and you finish everything before lunch, you really have nothing better to do at work...
Hence why I'm arguing about cargo shorts
I wear them about once every other month. I stick to jeans. I never really go out in public with them. They're just convinent for when I'm riding fourwheelers or doing some yard work and it's too damn hot for jeans, but I need the pocket space.
I also wear crocs. And have sunglasses with a strap on them
(not really)

Yeah, right? It's kind of odd how different designs make things look different. Once you show some proficiency with this concept, I'll tell you how different materials, in fact, feel different. That shite will really blow your mind.

Apparently the cargos that I've seen and wear are completely different than the ones you've seen. Are your normal shorts "skinny shorts" or something like skinny jeans?
When at home, going out to the store, going fishing, or anything of similar nature, I don't care about appearances.
Going out for something better than your average day occasion and wearing shorts, however, is trashy period. You wear pants when appearance is of importance. The quality of the occasion decides the quality of the pants.

Some cargo shorts, I will absolutely judge people and will write you off as a douche.
The one's you posted are not that variety. I cannot ever see myself paying money for them though. There is no need for the pockets, and the other shorts just look better. It's nothing that really makes me think twice about the person wearing them, just cannot understand why it is necessary in the first place when the topic is brought up.
