The beaches are gorgeous white sand. It's the water that's meh. It's mostly brownish and there's no waves. Ship Island is very nice. I would take a day trip to Pass Christian and Bay St. Louis and check out the little shops and things over there. There's also another casino in Bay St. Louis and less crowded beaches.

This. Plus downtown ocean springs is a must and watermark in gulfport. Also waveland just opened buccaneer water park with wave pool

I also second the ship island idea just being plenty sunscreen and water. Also there's some nice golf courses too

If you have kids the Kroc center in Biloxi is a must. It's an indoor huge splash pad with work out facility. It's awesome

Our Lady of The Gulf Crab Festival is this weekend in the Bay.

I went to that one time. Never again. July is a terrible time to have a festival.

Best dive bar with awesome cheeseburgers & the coldest beer in Biloxi is The Project Lounge.

^This, it's on Iberville Dr., steak sandwiches are the bomb. Also, MS Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo is going on at Gulfport Harbor. They have a great fireworks show after dark on the 4th, as does Biloxi near Deer Island in the channel. Either show is great to watch from the beach, check out each city's website for more info.

I lived on the Coast for 5 years before Katrina and I was never that crazy about that place. I think they're a lot better at getting publicity for their business than they are at running a restaurant.

I forgot about that place. That was a good bar. Someone told me that Jerry O'Keefe (former mayor of Biloxi, he put up a bunch of money for the Ohr-O'Keefe Museum) was married to a lady who used to be a bartender/manager there. When I lived in Biloxi and wanted to drink beer and eat burgers, I would hit the Village Sports Pub, Adventures or Jim-Bob's Pool Hall in Gulfport.

Bring a flashlight with you to the project. One time I handed the bartender a dry cleaning tickets thinking it was a twenty. It's darker than a gorillas butt hole in there

Adventures is fun but they moved now. Totally different but still fun

I was in Biloxi last week for work....I think there is a Cirque-type show at the Beau that looked pretty damn interesting...$20 per person, if I remember right, which is a hell of a lot less than you would spend doing anything else for several hours...

Eat at Mary Mahones's, if you want some damn good food in a classic place...

Ocean springs if you want to walk the streets of a very cool little town....

If it was for Mr. Cork's dry cleaning, this would be a better story.

Next year (or the following year) there will be minor league baseball in Biloxi.
