It's my aunt and uncle's 50th anniversary and they love casinos so my family is going down to Biloxi/Gulfport Thursday through Saturday and staying at the Grand Casino.

I don't really gamble so I figure my fiance and I are going to have to find some other things to do outside the casino.

I've heard the beaches aren't very desirable but we do plan on going to Ship Island Friday.

You might be out of a luck. Find the nearest dive bar on Yelp

The beaches are gorgeous white sand. It's the water that's meh. It's mostly brownish and there's no waves. Ship Island is very nice. I would take a day trip to Pass Christian and Bay St. Louis and check out the little shops and things over there. There's also another casino in Bay St. Louis and less crowded beaches.

Drive back down the coast to Bay St Louis. Walk around and check out the shops, eat at one of the restaurants (Sycamore House is really nice), drink at The Blind Tiger, 200 NB, or Trapani's upstairs. Check out the new harbor that opened this week...IDK, just basically drive down the coast and see it all. If you want a laugh, drive by houses for sale and look them up on the internet to see the crazy asking prices.

Yea, my son goes to summer camp there and I've seen the carnies all week. I love some boiled crabs, lets just hope it's neither raining nor 150 degrees.

I usually don't try to discourage people, but Ship Island can be absolutely cooker if the wind sits down. I'd 100% bring my own shade if I was going.

Best dive bar with awesome cheeseburgers & the coldest beer in Biloxi is The Project Lounge. I lived there for years and it's literally the only thing I miss from the area.

We're visiting Biloxi over the weekend too. Plan is to go to Crooked Letter Brewing and go to Government Street Grocery in Ocean Springs. Government Street Grocery is a cool place. It's like Chelsea's Cafe, except smaller with better food and a better beer selection.

The Ohr O'Keefe Museum is pretty nice. Think they recently opened up a new exhibit.

If you want to go old school, hit Mary Mahoney's Old French House. They have good crab claws. Plus, they put ice in the urinals. Class.
