Poors use cash a lot and lose change, which over time amounts to something. Wealthy people pay exact amounts with cards without having to worry about the change. Wealthiest person I know only carries cash for emergencies but never uses it.

Oh, and mortgage insurance.

It's relative. If you're paying a housenote in an overpriced subdivision in BR, and spending $100 on gas every week, yeah. If you're living in Natchitoches, you can have a pretty nice lifestyle at $75K, do really well at $100k, and live like a baller on $150k.
