LSU is geared toward getting you into grad school/research and not getting you into work.
Our department does a great job of getting us exposed to companies, but as far as learning what we need to be successful at a job they fail miserably.
It's a cliche but nearly every ChE professor at LSU is only there because they have the social skills of a fricking grizzly. Hell, most of them can't even get along with each other. Saddest part is they chase away people who would make great engineers and graduate human calculators that bomb in a real world setting.
