Yeah it's become a pastime for dudes living in paradises like Louisiana and Mississippi to shite on California for some odd reason.

It's a beautiful place, no doubt. It's a shame the fricktards in charge are running it into the ground.

Most of whom have never set foot in CA.

The West doesn't have enough water for all those people and cities, but they just keep going there.

Of course they don't but we're all bailing them out via Federal funds.

The part of L.A. I grew up in--Palos Verdes Peninsula--was a desert when we built the first home in our sub in 1962. Today the entire peninsula looks like it's in some tropical forest, what with all the green lawns, imported trees, plants and vegetation liberally watered over the decades.

No more. A friend of mine who still lives there says his lawn and the lawns of his neighborhood are quickly dying and browning due to water restrictions.

In the end, nature has its way.

what if I was wealthy enough to have a truck load of bottled water delivered to my house a few times a week and used that to water the lawn? Would that be against the law too?

I would really educate myself on which states use the majority of federal funds before making blanket statements. I am not claiming that Ca. Is better than Mississippi but come on....it's the 8th largest economy in the world.

The celebrities with huge lawns need some shame. Either that or bigger penalties for going over their quota.

I don't think celebrities are really the cause. There is a town/development called Mountain House here that has less than 48 hours of water left and the pictures in yesterday's paper showed multiple people with sprinklers on...we could definitely stand to conserve.

And it is run in such an appallingly shitty way that it is dead broke.

Don't get me wrong, CA is beautiful. I love to visit.
