Yup. Louisiana is nothing but swamps and we all work at plants.

I agree with you. When I first moved out here I thought Californians were terrible. I was selling wine when I first moved out here. Out of fear for people thinking I didn't know what I was talking about I wouldn't tell people where I was from. I would say "I'm from the south." People that were from California (mainly SoCal) would say, "oh so your from like la Orange County?"

This drove me up a fricking wall. Yes there are those people here. There are also a lot of great people as well. The catch is that it takes longer to find the good people

Plan on going with the wife this summer to San Fran. I would say I don't like Cali, but I really have nothing personal to go on other than a few friends who've said how ridiculous the cost of living is.

That being said, nothing beats driving down LA1 and getting that hint of salt water fill your nose early in the morning as the sun starts to rise and you know your about to go catch some fish, drink some beer, eat the fish you just caught while sitting on the porch of your camp as the sun sets over the marsh.
I'll take that scenery over any other any day, but that's just me.

No, why would I start a thread just to say that, but you should finish your sandwich and go back to doing plant things.

You're doing a great job perpetuating the negative California stereotype.

Went to Yosemite and Big Sur last year. Headed to Tahoe this year. I go to Muir Woods and up the coast Hwy frequently. Really gorgeous scenery in CA.

I lived in Cali for 3.5 years after graduating. I really enjoyed it. Living in the Central Valley isn't what most people think of when the topic comes up, but to be honest, it really wasn't that bad. Any type of outdoor activity that you could possibly think to do is available within reasonable distance.
I wasn't ever a huge fan of the LA area, but I loved going to the central coast and northern Cali. San Diego is also a very fun town with beautiful weather and women. Vegas was also 3.5-4 hour drive. We went there quite often.
I don't know if I would ever live there again, but visiting Cali leaves so much open for things to do and see.

That guy is not helping the conversation. He is just being defensive rather than trying to understand why he feels the way he does.

It's just a numbers game. A lot more people in California than Louisiana.
