Why is it considered being disrespectful to the flag?

Ask the guy missing his legs thanks to an IED...or the guy who's face is mangled from an explosion and gets stared at daily by little kids...or the parents who had to bury their kid with one draped across their coffin. If you have to ask why? You wouldn't understand if I told you. People fought to protect her since 1776, and I'm damn sure not going to let some pansy arse sports athlete disgrace her without letting them know about it.

I'm honestly sick of both sides whining about it.

The bigger question is why is it sung at sporting events at all?

The Olympics, I can understand.

But pro, and even college and school, seems out of place.

Ok...so that's why I ask...

Bc the majority of the kind you reference tell me that they don't understand it either. So perhaps you can enlighten me?

There's really no logical reason for it. I've heard the military pays sporting venues or leagues to play it. Dunno if that's true. But regardless of whether it should be played, it is played. And there's a level of conduct expected when the anthem is played. It's actually laid out in federal law fwiw. Civilians are supposed to stand, hat off, and place the right hand over the heart.

And those people would tell you that is one of the major things they were fighting for.

It’s called freedom.

All of the former and active military people I know have absolutely no issue with any of these guys peacefully protesting for equality.
