There is a bug in the roots of water hyacinths that will bite the crap out of you. Don’t know the name.

I spent a lot of time walking barefoot in the bayou down the street when I was a kid. Every now and then I would get the shite bitten out of me. Never saw what the hell it was.

I got nailed by a next of what appeared to be some form of paper wasps this summer. They had a nest inside my shadow box fence and attacked when I passed by with the mower.

2 of them got me on the back of my neck, and untold others got me on my right hip through my shorts. The ones on the neck hurt worse, but the ones on the hip drew a little blood and left a faint bruise the size of a softball.

frick those things

My dad got bitten on the foot by a BR after being in the crawl space of our house.

The tissue around the bite died and there was talk of amputating his leg from the calf down.

He finally got past the necrosis, but would occasionally get sick from the toxins for years after the bite.
The daughter of a lady at my church just had her second surgery on a BR bite on her face. There’s already talk that she might need another one.

I don’t frick around with spiders, venomous snakes, nor any jellyfish. Nope nope nope.

Never heard of this puss Caterpillar. Sounds like they are mainly in oak and citrus trees.

That's because they are not an ant. They are a wingless wasp. Check it out but I think I'm correct.

You are correct. I had looked it up, and one day seen a Male. Looked just like a wasp, but was red velvet all over.

Anyone who has ever disturbed a nest of bumblebees knows they hurt like a motherfricker. And it’s usually not just one that gets after you. Had a swarm chase me better than 100 yards once after I got into a nest running a bulldozer.

Ive been bitten by a red velvet ant too and its no level 1

I think that was a typo based on the context he used it in below... thinking he meant to say a red velvet ant bite is a level 4, but not quite the same as a bullet ant bite.

And a bonus round for things that also qualify for level 1, but not quite on a bullet ant level..

Red Velvet Ant (cow killer)

They are tough little bastards too, I remember when I found it I stepped on it over and over and couldnt believe the bastard kept going
