How it's not the Causeway and the Trace not be Mississippi's road just makes you question the author's credibility.

The picture of Decatur? Yep. Worthless Article.

Fitting in many ways

If you think about it, Decatur is probably a better pick than Bourbon anyway. But yeah, there are hundreds of more "incredible" roads in La. There are probably a dozen just in New Orleans.

Kansas is an even bigger fail. I-70 in Kansas is incredible only for its mind-numbing boredom. Surely there has to be a better highway in Kansas somewhere.

And no Natchez Trace? Makes no sense.

The road to Hana is awesome. Until you're halfway back and a mudslide closes the road. Then you have to drive all the fricking way around the other side of the island in the dark.

Trail Ridge Rd is pretty awesome. I thought Colorado's entry would be either that or Million Dollar highway

Trail Ridge Rd. wasn't my first thought but it's hard to argue with it. I think I'd go with the Million Dollar Hwy. personally. Or I-70 through Glenwood Canyon.

If it isn't I-25 during rush hour, then I could get down with this option as well

I-70 where it opens up around Evergreen and you get that awesome big picture view of the rockies really does it for me too

Let's face it, there are a lot of pretty drives in CO. Tough to pick just one. 24 from Leadville to Salida is nice. I-70 from the tunnel to Vail, especially in the fall. The little back roads around the Spanish Peaks are pretty cool. 50 from Gunnison to Montrose. 24 from Divide to Wilkerson Pass.

Illinois - Lake Shore Drive

Outside of Chicago, Illinois is the absolute worst. Nothing.

ETA: I didn't know Alabama had mountainous terrain like that. That looks nice.
