Someone saying, "I read the entire Bible and I don't understand what laws were displaced by Jesus and which were retained," is the best proof that someone didn't read any of the Bible.
Bingo. The Old Testament was about the Covenant of the Law between God and man. There was no way for man to ever live up to the Law, it's impossible. Thus the need in the Old Testament for animal sacrifice for the blood of those animals to atone for the sins of man.
The New Testament brought about a new covenant between man and God though through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He paid the price for our sins so that we ourselves would not have to pay the price. There's more to it than this simple explanation, things like the punishment for sin being death, man being unable to live without sinning, etc, etc. But that's the gist of it all.

Not our fault he didn't bring enough lamp oil.

See, there's another contradiction.
“Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit".

Mexicans?

I think he meant fruit, as in a gay person.

See... so many misinterpretations. I thought he meant people that picked fruit from trees.
Posted on 11/24/15 at 4:20 pm to terd ferguson
Well, maybe he did. Gay people sometimes climb trees.

And sometimes they're thrown off buildings or stoned to death.

Without that destruction of Baghdad the Islamic world might have already achieved the Enlightenment it so desperately needs, and perhaps Muslims might not have their prevailing hostile and defensive attitudes toward outsiders.
Or perhaps they would have realized that Islam is bullshite.

All religions are bad. At some point in history nearly all the major religions have taken part in a holy war of some sort.
By placing these sentences next to each other, did you mean to imply that the second is evidence for the first?
What makes "holy war" necessarily a bad thing? Have you ever actually stopped to think about that?

Too call Islam any more violent or hateful than Christianity is completely ridiculous. Just because the Christians cherry pick the parts of the bible that they like does not mean their book is anymore bonkers than the Koran.
Never mind, you haven't stopped to think about much on your way to your opinions.

What about the Hindus and Buddhists or other similar religions of peace? I also believe these religions are closer to true spiritual enlightenment.

This is why I shake my head at the folks who say all of this Islamic deviltry is the result of "blow back." These folks have been savages since Day One.
