I know y'all see this too on I10 headed west. How does this business work? You come over here and find cheap cars and haul em back to Mexico and flip em over for more cash? Is the used car market really that different? How much cash are we talking here?

I saw a chain of three last weekend. Wanted to run the a-hole off the road. It's so fricking unsafe to be going 40 in the right lane with a chain of cars going back and forth over the lane marker.

well, if you gut the vehicles and use them to smuggle coke and people across the border, then... a lot.

Yes. They buy a lot of flood damaged cars, get them running, and sell them back home. Pay basically nothing here.

Don't know all the details but basically, they will register a U.S. vehicle that's at least 10 years old for a small fee. No tax or anything from what I understand.

also notice that most of the time it is an older Toyota 4x4 with the SR22 engine.

I see a lot of caravans of these things headed south on US 59, especially on Sunday nights.

I've heard that they bring them to South America and then ship them to Cuba.

They make good money off the crap down there. It should be illegal for them to tow that crap on our roads. You know they don't have insurance.

That's your problem.
But, if you hit them, they are going to hire a TV lawyer and go after you!
