Probably a single guy that decided to buy a house instead of throwing away money on rent, that rented out a room to a roommate to help pay the mortgage.

Did you check the crime stats for your neighborhood? I have lived in some sketchy places, always had some type of bolt look on the bedroom door, when the meth heads kick down the front door there was still another door between them and me.

Yep. I rented an apartment in college that had keyed locks on each bedroom. All the living space was open but you could secure your own room.

My wife's cousin was going through a divorce and the two stayed in the house until the divorce was final, but they slept in separate rooms and both had deadbolt locks on their bedroom doors.

My place use to be a three plex at one time before we turned it into a single. We kept the original dead bolts from the 30's on a few of the doors. They don't work though.
