“That’s a flat-out lie,” Broussard snapped. “Sir, we have never written a citation on the interstate for one, two, three, four miles over the speed limit in the 10 years that we started working the interstate.”

No, sir, that' a flat out lie.

I was going over the hill where the cop sits everyday, and I knew not to go a mile over. A car was passing me at a snails pace, couldn't have been going a mile or 2 faster than me. And she got lit up.

I have been driving through there 2 times a week since July and 90% of the time the cop has someone pulled over.

They'll pull you over for going 72 in a 70 then right you a ticket for doing 80. Very common practice there.

if i was a rich man, there would be many videos of people getting pulled over for just this, along with videos of the interaction with the cops. over and over and over again

One Saturday during football season last year, somebody but up a bunch of yard signs by the side of the interstate that said "Warning, speed trap ahead." when we passed by again after the game, they were gone

I have a fantastic story of a day where I got two tickets within 15 minutes. One in corrupt Port Barre on 190, then another in Washington on 1-49. I admittedly earned the ticket in Port Barre. I should have been paying attention.

Long story short: I was on the phone with a friend in Port Barre getting the ticket I just got fixed, when I turn on 49 going North. He tells me on the phone "I know they are giving tickets in Washington today on 1-49. Make sure to go 70".

Being from the area, I knew this, and had my cruise control on 70, since I didn't want another ticket. Sure as shite, I see the Washington cop pulled over on the side of 1-49. I'm the only car on 1-49 N at this time. No one else around. He flags me over. I wish I had a video that day.

Tells me I was going 78 in a 70. I tell him there is no way. I had the CC on 70. I was fuming. I was still on the phone with my friend telling him the officer's name, etc. My friend encourages me to hang up as to not piss off the corrupt cop.

I show the ahole my ticket from 15 minutes earlier and tell him "why would I be stupid enough to speed after getting this ticket just 15 minutes ago". He stops writing. Looks me dead in the eye, and says "I'll put a note on this ticket to tell them you were polite and to drop it to a seat belt citation".

Corrupt a-hole.

I ended up not paying for either ticket. So frick them anyway.

When he says they don't write tickets for 1,2,3 or 4 over, isn't he admitting that 5 over tickets are routine?

He may be technically correct, because they just lie about the speed.. had my cruise set exactly 1/2 between 75 & 80, so 77.5 in the right lane getting passed.. the cop said she radared me at 81, I politely told her that was incorrect and it may have been one of the cars passing me, but she said no she "locked" on me...the very next day in BR passed 2 of those automated speed signs that confirmed my speedometer was dead on... shady shady, I go 5 miles under there now and still worry

well.....he's right there. I never feel sorry for speeders

so you're telling me that if you're going 1mph over the speed limit, you deserve whatever ticket they can throw at you? i will never understand you people. the posted speed limits are not the enforced speed limits, and the entire united states is governed that way. it's complete bs to get a ticket for going 1mph over the limit.

El oh el. Why does a town of barely over 1000 need 10 officers, or any department at all? I bet they have brand new chargers in typical LA small town fashion. I hope all of them lose their jobs.

GF used to work in Opelousas and had to go past those assholes daily and hope not to get a ticket.

Now that she works in Ellick, she won't even take the Lebeau entrance to I-49, she just goes up LA 182 to Whiteville and gets on there.

Oddly enough I haven't seen them out there the last two times I passed through on I-49.

I'd like to see their stats before and after it went to 75.
Me too. I travel I-49 often and have not seen any Po Po around Washington. I guess I have been lucky.
