That's pretty cool. El Paso is farther west than Colorado Springs and Denver.

Places in Mexico are farther north than New Orleans

Oh yeah? Name one.
-----------------------------------------------------------

We can start with TJ, but N.O. is two or three degrees south of northern Mexico, so anyone who can read a map ought to be able to name several.

Tunis, Tunisia? North of New Orleans.

And while you're trying to comprehend those couple of geographical tidbits, here's one more to blow your mind...
Tahiti is EAST of Hawaii.

I think you mean ellipsoid

The term "Spheroid" means that it is almost a sphere, but not quite.

Although the earth's shape is technically an ellipsoid, its major and minor axes do not vary greatly. In fact, its shape is so close to a sphere that it is often called a spheroid rather than an ellipsoid.

Maine being the closest state to Africa doesn't surprise me. Seems like a no brainer.

Yea I misread it like some others in here until I looked at a map and knew it was impossible, then I reread and realized what was meant. That makes sense

It's 832 miles to drive from Pensacola, FL to Key West, FL.

That was a big holy shite moment the first time I saw that map. Never really got that from geography class.
