Yes, it has increased. You should see what comes in the hospital on a daily basis. So very sad.

Why is that always the response to that statement? Isn't it possible all of my close friends never did drugs? I'm 57 and never smoked weed as well as my friends. I didn't want to associate with the people that did. Now alcohol is a TOTALLY different story, I have many sad stories. We always thought we were fricked up enough just drinking ! We wouldn't be here if we also did drugs. Fact.

Because my parents are in their 60's and haven't done drugs and don't have ANY friends who have done them either. That is until they found out I had an opiate addiction and a monthly script for Roxy's. Amazing how many "bad backs" came out of the wood work. Fact is, everyone knows someone suffering from addiction today. Period

never heard anyone say this before. Nobody you went to school with or family had drug issues? I'd like to raise my children where you are from.

Heroin became a thing again after changes in prescription meds. The typical addict isn't the street junkie anymore, they're from all walks of life. Doses are inconsistent and often cut with other dangerous drugs.

We've had a drop in deaths locally since Narcan has been sold OTC.

Im never surprised when I hear of a couple having marital problems because the wife is addicted to pain killers.

So you never heard of a story in which the husband was addicted? I don't think its just one sex or the other being affected.

Why? Arrests are up, prison population is up, cash seizures are up, addicts are increasing- it's a good day to be in the war on drugs. Business is booming. I doubt you'll find anyone in law enforcement that wants to change any of the drug laws.

Honestly wish this was a troll...

If the war on drugs ended tomorrow, you know how many people would be out of jobs?

People who blame doctors and phram company's don't take responsibility for their actions. Some people are just addicts and will find something to get addicted to.

You imply that everyone who has been addicted to prescription medicine has committed a crime. That's an ignorant response and answer. I don't care who the person is, whether they are an addict yet or not, if a DR. prescribed them 180-210 thirty mg oxycontin per month and then after 10 yrs tells them 0 per month and "that's just that", there will be repercussions. Our current Heroin epidemic is that repercussion.
