There was a young black dude who used to hang around the BR federal court/post office area in the late 80s. He had some weird rod contraption on his neck to make him look pitiful. He was always needing $2 for gas to get to a doctor appointment to check that neck.

He's probably retired by now.

That same DB asked me and my buddies at the bowling alley if we had $16 because he needed a wrecker for his car or something along those lines. One of my buddies thought he was legit, then I showed him that article, and yep that's him

Anyone who fights this dude will get slapped with a lawsuit no doubt. He'd probably just let you kick his arse for the payout

He got us( my wife and I) about two years ago with the pop a lock scam. We were moving our son into his dorm and kind of caught us off guard. Before I could say anything my wife gives him $15

Anyone ran into "Glen" around the Perkins overpass? He's a middle aged black dude (or 20yr old crack head) on a bike with all sorts of radios and crap zip tied to it. He's got a hilarious fast paced flow to his story. Something about testing solar panels on his bike by listening to walton and Johnson, sean hannity, and Glenn beck all day. He cracks me up.

Dude came up to me inside Target on Seigen talking about how was out of gas in the turn lane on Seigen and his car had been stuck there for an hour and the cops were threatening to tow it if he didn't move it.

I said "An hour huh? Is it an invisible car because I just rolled in here 10 minutes ago and I saw no car."

He said "It's on the other side of the overpass by Wal-Mart"

I said "So you walked all the way over here instead of Walmart because you like the excercise or because you think Target people have more money?"

At that he says "I'm sorry man." and walked away.

I found the nearest Target employee and reported the guy.

When I was leaving he was in the parking lot trying his scam on some lady and her kid.

At that point I said "Dude why don't you get out of here before I call the cops" He took off running.

Like a month later, the guy comes up to me at Perkins Rowe with the PopALock story.

I said "Hey I remember you. You have the invisible car."

He says "I'm sorry" and walks away.

His story isn't funny, but I always laugh at this. I was trying to think of how it looked and this is what I came up with. When he did it to me and I told him to F off, he didn't say anything. He gave me this blank stare, then bolted.

eah, i was amazed at how organized it was. They all surrounded him, he talked, gave them piece of paper with restaurants, stores, where they will give away day old food, and places to beg. Then later they come back 1 by one, giving him a cut.

I wanted to sit and watch all day, it was very interesting, how it worked and how he went about his day.

And that's how it's done!

The only person that could do that would be Usain Bolt because the guy runs when he's confronted.

A Baton Rouge panhandler has reached quasi-celebrity status. Wrap your brain around that.

Yep. He was talking about NASA and shite.

The pop a lock guy tried scamming my wife and I at Whole Foods. Apparently she had run into him before and told him to go kick rocks before I could say no.

I agree. Maybe showing him kindness will open his eyes and make him reconsider things. You never know.
