Vacation bible school camps are from 8-12 and are cheap as crap. Just find a bunch of those.

Check the camps in Hammond or make the kids get jobs.

It sounds like you're the kind of riff raff they're trying to keep out.

Wow, never knew the cost of Camp Abbey til I just looked it up right now. $399 really isn't that much considering the cost of daycare I pay now and that's only for 8-10 hours a day...

That's less than $24/hour to watch your kids and do activities. Any less and you're just asking for your kids to get touched in inappropriate places.

You you pretty much want a Mandeville camp for Slidell prices.

Well said. There is a reason they are so expensive. I'm sure if there is a camp in Hammond it will be cheaper and closer to the OP.

Yeah, I pay a decent amount more than that for daycare. And they don't really have any activities for the kids or anything like a camp would. Granted they do watch the kid a little longer.

Not really.

SPS = $10k / 40 weeks = $250/week

and that's the pinnacle of the education of fine young gentlemen in the state

Mandeville sports complex is around 180 a week and it's from 9-3 am. That includes lunches and field trips. My kids go there and love it.

I pay more than that for daycare and it's a whole 52 weeks a year (give or take a few holidays)

That sounds more reasonable given the cost and the times. At least they keep the kids during most of the work day. Most of these camps charge a lot and only keep the kids 3 hours out of the day. With both parents working, it's hard to leave work and truck your kids all over Mandevile everyday to different camps.

I'll check out Mandeville Sports Complex. Thanks

You must be new to this whole parenting thing. Things have been like this for a long time. Have you looked at the YMCA? If they even have one

I'm pretty sure Franco's keeps them longer than that, but it's probably way too expensive for you

Prayers sent.

Yea. Lotta bullshite in here but OP is right. My kids went to a great camp in ascension Parish for under 200/week and 8am-3pm. This whole hourly rate thing is horse shite because the bigger the group(within reason) the easier they are to manage with certain activities. So yea they get 13/hr x 30 kids with 3 camp counselors.
