I really don't get why they still make the 320i.

They're good reliable every day drivers

I wouldn't consider them luxury cars. More of a sporty sedan.

They're great cars, but this thread title coupled with a post about 3 series is a fail. Had the title been best sports sedan, then the thread makes sense.

They sell the 318s in other countries.

What's the difference between a porcupine and a BMW?

The pricks are on the outside of a porcupine.

They just seem a bit pointless for the American market imho. Similar to when Infiniti tried to market the G25 and it failed horribly. I can understand European markets having them.

I agree. I was used to seeing everyone here having 550s and 540s and was surprised when i saw a damn 518 once in Europe. Then over the last decade or so they've started bring the small liter engines over here. Thanks Obama.

Yea I am well aware it is the entry level BMW. She originally was looking at an X3, but we already have a grand cherokee.

I never understood why people made fun of the 3 series. It's a sports car, its supposed to be small, not a giant boat.

LOL I interned at Chrysler the summer just before that model year went into production. Chrysler would give some of us vehicles to drive. The 300s had the same shifter and this one girl ran into a Starbucks near work thinking she put it in park.

BMW's 5 Series would match the OP's thread title much better, IMO.
The M5 is a masterpiece, but I love my 5 series. It's so fun to drive. I know maintenance can be really high on them, but so far I have been lucky except for a tire that may have a nail in it.

Mercedes-Benz S550 is better than anything BMW makes

If you are talking about sports sedans.....I'd still prefer some kind of Audi or this Cadillac CTS-V:

I haven't liked a BMW since the E39 5 series 13 years ago.

I have a 335i and really enjoy it, but I'd love to get into a M3 at the end of the year. Mercedes and Audi are ok but it's just always Bimmer for me.

The OT deals in fantasy, not reality.

I definitely get some of the stigma that BMW owners receive. Just go on instagram or youtube and you can find countless videos. Overall, I enjoy the way the drive and quality of the vehicle.

Also, the M235i is beautiful.
