If the right lane was empty to begin with, why didn't you just go around instead of coming up on someone and flashing your lights ?
1. It is illegal and more dangerous
2. The driver needs to learn to get over.

Correct.
Spin off: motherfrickers need to learn how to yield. If you are entering the highway it's not my job to merge into the left lane to let you in.

1- So are following to closely and speeding.
2- I agree they should get over, but for the sake of not seeming boorish, it in no way would have hurt just to change yourself and avoid confrontation.

I had two seconds of space between us and I was going 70.
You're the reason why the interstate is backed up for a mile because everyone keeps passing the 18-wheeler on the right while the truck is trying to get back over.

This isn't the interstate though. That person may want to turn left and that's why they're in the left lane.

Well when she stopped filming a block ahead she was in the left lane. And they drove for at least a block or two while filming and I'm sure this didn't start then. So she was in the left lane too early.

Or if the right lane is empty, why the hell are you in the left lane

I started this exact thread about a year ago and got blasted here for it. I think it is unsafe and an unneccesary lane change. They said I was an a-hole for not letting them in. I never take it off cruise control or increase speed. It is the merging vehicles responsibility to speed up or slow down and match the flow of traffic. If there is no hole, they should stop at the yeild sign and wait for an opening.
It blows my mind how few people understand this.

flashing your lights behind them is the perfectly legal and taught way of saying get over.

For me, I move over to the left to make the situation a whole lot easier if I can. The person merging shouldn't be expecting me to do so though. Its more like a favor.

Okay. And if that favor works 9999 times great, but miss someone coming up in your blind spot just once, and you are on the hook for damages, tickets, and possibly a the loss of someones life.
Again, why make an unneccesary lane change? It is not your responsibility. Period.
