Just because you want the symbol doesn't mean you are this high-maintenance, gold digging chick

why is the symbol so important?

also, the convo typically is about buying fake diamonds first...to give them a shot. most fail there and are eliminated before the discussion about the ring itself occurs

come on....it's pretty transparent.

if a woman wants a ring she's a gold digger thats totally superficial.

thats classic OT

Cause I'm sentimental. And because I'm a traditional person and like most of society's norms.

i'm not saying that

the way she views the value of "things" vs. how i view "things" is vastly different. this is a sign that we will have the same conversation about all sorts of "things" and it will become a major issue, over and over again

Just checking

You have officially given your balls to your SO when you agree to a joint FB page.

Not at all. But getting married in their 20s is a decision they'll likely come to regret. They'll feel like they missed out on adventure and feel the noose of commitment tightening around their neck, strangling them.

Or maybe it will fill a void in their lives. I don't know.

i would venture to say that most men who have a joint FB page, have no idea that their wives have added their names to their facebook page.

for some women, you might have to educate them on the evils of diamonds prior to eliminating them. There are a ton of men and women that know nothing about where diamonds come from, the reasoning behind the tradition, and the business practices of those that push the tradition.

Back then they were corporate advertising....now they have become ingrained as a societal norm.

I think as long as the woman isn't expecting this massive rock that is clearly out of her SO's budget then there is nothing wrong with wanting that symbol. I wear my wedding set daily and still very much enjoy looking at it. I still get compliments on it and will continue to wear it the rest of my life.

I really don't hate women at all. I adore women, just like I adore dragons. With the knowledge that eventually I'll get burned.

You know what the boy who dug up that rock is wearing? Whatever he was wearing when he dug it up and DIED.

Did you watch the video nurse?

Are you really thinking about what you are saying here?

That's like a prohibitionist's argument for keeping something illegal.

Its a dumb fricking tradition that makes no fricking sense. They are a waste of money and women are fricking shallow for wanting them.

That said, I bought one for my fiance and it has me broke. I am a weak man
