GTFOH, if you post on this board you have almost certainly lived through some of the greatest time to be alive in human history. I'm the first to rail in the idiocy of income taxes, however, we've all received a pretty solid ROI all things considered.

Go frick yourself with this bullshite.

ROI? Like what? Louisiana roads? Affordable healthcare? Affordable groceries right now? fricking double the cost of homeowner’s insurance in the last year? Motherfricker, if it wasn’t for the massive amount of money the government steals from me in multiple ways I may be able to actually get ahead.

The American taxpayer needs to start a revolution. It's ridiculous who poorly ran govt is at all levels, and how much money is simply wasted.

I’m willing to start the revolution but you’re probably not going to like my dictatorship that going to follow if I win.

You were born into the greatest bull run of any country in human history, but keep playing the victim and blaming the man as why you can't get ahead.

The ROI comment was in response to receiving nothing in return for taxes which is obviously false.

I've paid more than my fair share of taxes, think that income tax shouldn't exist, and that the government should be held accountable for their incredible inefficiency.

At the same time I can be thankful for the opportunity presented by simply being born in the right country at the right time.

This is SUCH a tired trope. For a fraction of our defense budget, we're funding a military who is doing the dirty work of severely depleting an enemy's military for us. How in the hell is that a bad thing? Do you think direct conflict would somehow be cheaper, because I promise you Putin will not stop until someone puts up a damn fight like the Ukranians have.

The US goal is a stalemate. We want Russia to deplete their military stockpiles, overuse their troops, and be forced to spend an arse ton of their GDP on this war effort. We want Ukraine to keep it going as long as they can, but we don't want them to win. Them winning could lead to Putin doing something rash, like launching nukes.

The Ukrainian war is one of the most pennywise foreign policy moves by the US in a long damn time.

And those who can, still pay for private.

It's disgusting how many people think the government provides even one thing that we couldn't provide ourselves. Truly disgusting.

The lifetime tax figure, $524,625, works out to about one-third of the average American's lifetime earnings, which add up to roughly $1.5 million.

Maybe my 6am math ain’t mathin’, but that means every 100 years, the government is yanking in about $182 trillion dollars with 350 million Americans paying an average of $524k/lifetime.

I get that calculation doesn’t make much sense considering population changes, inflation, etc. But as a thought experiment, America rich as frick, yo.

Averages seem like a bad measure here, given that almost half (maybe more) people pay zero federal or state income tax.

Was about to note this. Means the people in the middle class that pay the bulk of the taxes end up paying so much more than this.

EVERYONE who buys anything good or service at any time is being taxed almost immediately. It's literally impossible to pay zero taxes.

Yes even poor people are paying probably close to 10% sales tax on everything they consume, and more than that when they purchase fuel.

I normally hate the government because it steals so much from the from the productive members of society. But I hate them really bad this time of year.

I don’t think I can ever vote for another tax.

I could probably live off what I pay in taxes today. And our infrastructure is still shite. And we keep sending pallets or cash to Ukraine.

Which is atrocious considering the quality of public education in most of Louisiana.

Hell yeah, that means I’m almost done after this year. I paid well over half that in 23 alone.

You gotta go to at least double that to make up for your counterpart that pays what rounds to zero, And once you’ve done that, then you can just be “above average.”
