I think it is almost just as bad as her tweeting this in the first place. Social media is the first place everyone reaches.

Well, it could be a very useful tool in an emergency.

Think about a situation when someone is hostage but still has access to their phone. They can alert the public and police that for instance, hostages are being executed.

It has its benefits.

Now running from bullets recording the shooting in portrait instead of landscape on Periscope might not be the best idea.

I didn't look too far into it, but @jaysunsilver has tried to reach out to others involved. Going so far as to ask for some girls number who was at the scene. But the crazier thing is she actually responded by saying they need to DM.

I don't see what is so terrible here, these folks certainly had time to tweet it.

They'd get fired for NOT doing it.

I agree, but...

"If I had my choice I would kill every reporter in the world, but I am sure we would be getting reports from Hell before breakfast."

I don't support his quote, but they are truly parasites in this 24 hour news cycle social media dependentworld.
I fight it a different way. I don't watch the news. Ever.

Why was she tweeting in the first place? I guess she go the attention she wanted. Death to social media.

Within minutes of Monica Lewinsky's name being made public, I created an AOL account based on her name. The Inbox was flooded with interview requests from reporters like these.

Reporters have always wanted to be the news rather than just report the news. They want to see their name on the byline of the biggest story of the day. It is what it is.

Did that long ago. But you are right. They are giving us what people want to see. The superficiality of our society and behavior of the media are both fairly disgusting.
