Agreed. But you'll always hear about that guy in your company, battalion, or brigade during the end of week safety briefings

After a very fun year at LSU making well below average grades my parents told me if I wanted to stay in school I would need to take out loans and it's now on me. I started doing better the following semester.

You may be a lot of things, but mature ain't one of them.

True

I say this a lot: why don't men ever grow up? Because women do.

remember what GEN Abrams said about leaving three soldiers out in the middle of nowhere with nothing but an anvil...you go back in a week and the anvil would be broken!!!!!

I would heartily disagree. I don't think my lifestyle has anything to do with lack of maturity. Through my 30s and 40s I was actively racing motocross, doing trackdays on a sportbike, and now with my Porsche. Yet throughout that time I've maintained more than ample life insurance, excellent disability insurance which I was forced to use, and I've always provided more than everything my family needs - including spending more time with my kids than any other parent I've ever met. It's a lifestyle that capitalizes on extracting the most joy out of one's life, but I don't see anything immature about any of the decisions I've made. Maturity should not mean that you stop living.

I'm pretty sure mature people don't brag on message boards or elsewhere.
