Not getting into a new S class for $80k. And the kind of person that is in the market for a truck likely isn't cross shopping it with a large sedan. Not saying you were implying that btw.

Is it really though?

Just because you could spend $80K on a truck, and some people will, doesn't make it normal.

That's a lot of money to tell everyone you're a douche.

Only 80k I'd spend on a truck is a ford raptor

Even fully loaded, they're below $70k (unless the dealer tries to butt rape you with marking up above MSRP).

Guy down the street has a 2013 AMG C coupe. Exhaust note is so nice.

You can't fix stupid. You should make 300k a year to justify an 80k vehicle and that's probably a stretch.

I bought my 2010 F150 Supercrew for $26k brand new. Have said for awhile that I wanted a truck for my next new vehicle. The sticker shock I saw walking the lot is making me rethink that idea.

why do people like spending so much on vehicles? Put the extra money towards an IRA or save for a bigger home or to buy some rental properties or a vacation home.

It's a stretch because that's an absurdly high salary for an $80k vehicle.

There's not a huge markdown in the used market right now, at least not until you get into higher mileage vehicles.

Looks like it's a good time to get into selling used pickup trucks. Someone has to cater to the huge market of people who have better sense than to spend $80k of a freaking truck.

As someone currently looking at used trucks, the prices don't seem to fall off that much. Even some of the high mileage ones are going for close to the same as a brand new sedan.

I bought a new 2017 Chevy z71 4x4, 5.3l crew cab for $39k a few months ago.

No leather seats, but all the other bells and whistles.

Deals are out there but you have to shop around and strike at the right time.

Perhaps, as long as finance companies can find enough douchebags willing to finance vehicles for 144 months.
