Prices look high for then. Had to check. $0.65 in 1899 for turtle soup is $24.09 today.

Roasted Chicken was also the most expensive item in the menu by far and there was no turkey at all.

Yet scallops and crab was everywhere.

Bottom of menu says half portions served for one person. Looks like the prices are for two people.

Thanksgiving was celebrated on the last Thursday of November until FDR changed it in the 30s

The last time I stayed at The Plaza was 2005. If memory serves me correctly, a burger in the Oak Room was $35.00. Times change!

That was probably right before it went condo. It was a remarkable hotel. People watching was great there. Outside the hotel was where the last scene of "The Way We Were" was filmed.
