I have a 5 and it didn't jack my phone up, it just cut if off and restarted. However, I have a coworker who tried to be cute and take out a couple of the characters and send it to our chief, it crashed his 6

My message on Tech board:
It's because there is a bug that messes up the app if it tried to insert an ellipsis is non-Roman characters of great length.
I was told one solution may be going to photos and sending one to that same person. This allows you into the conversation, where you can delete that specific text.
Let me know if it works.
