Current is now under contract and the buyer needs us out a month prior to new one's completion. This was all a calculated risk and now the chips are falling as once feared. I would rather have to worry about temporary housing over two mortgages for an undetermined amount of time, so I'm now looking for temporary housing for me, wife (no pics), two year old, and two dogs.

Any (most of them) ideas are welcome at this time.

Hale'iwa is really nice this time of the year. Not as many heady surf bros rolling around.

Apartment is almost not an option for us with the two dogs. It is feasible but not with my crew.

Do you have access to a camper?

Fountainbleu and Fairview state parks will allow you to stay 14 days at a time.

Your wife can stay with me temporarily.

There were some apartments in Slidell that allowed dogs in the 90's... Not sure if they are still there or if they still allow dogs.

Friend of mine rented for 3 months in a Greenleaves Apartment a couple years back. He had a lab mix.

Do a search for short term house rentals. Some people rent out their houses weekly or monthly.

Damn, I just accepted an offer on my old house in Mandeville yesterday. I would have been able to help you out. I'd start calling every single apartment complex in Mandeville/Covington to see if any will go month to month and allow dogs

There's a place by me in old golden shores I can give you the number to.

I'll look on the way out tomorrow and post the number. Small house, prolly would accept dogs.

Tots,
It gets even more complicated than what I posted. My FIL sold his house in NELA and closes on it two days after we close on our current one. He's moving down here and is looking to buy some acreage by June 12th. He will also be homeless.

Absolutely! This is all temporary, as in two to four weeks max. If the FIL finds a place this weekend, we will set up camp at his new place until the new one is ready.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
