How does one have "the confidence" to avoid being falsely identified of committing a crime? I mean literally, some guy describes a similar guy driving a car like yours, and you get arrested. What control do you have over that?
because I have a life style that can account for my actions/whereabouts every fricking day. It certainly isn't exciting, but I am certain, should I be accused of wrongdoing, it would be dismissed before a mob could form to kill me. Could I be accused/arrested, yes, but I'd be exonerated before any harm could occur. At least in this country. Now as gringo in South America or an infidel in the middle east, yeah I could end up dead as a hammer.

People get burned alive all of the time in third world countries for stuff like:
Prostitution
Infidelity
Being gay
Stealing
Rape
I've seen it well over a hundred times in the past few years, so it isn't shocking to me. The only reason it shocks people is because they choose to insulate themselves on how the rest of the world works. The majority of the time, a whole town sits there and watches/helps
All you have to do is a simple Google search

crimes in which mob justice is acceptable IMO. The others not so much. although I know some guys whose wives were unfaithful and they would argue the point, I'm sure.

You've just destroyed your own justification for mob justice. Good thing, in your case, we have a justice system to determine your whereabouts before the mob hangs you.

I saw a video last year where they made a guy chop off his own hand because he stole something. It took him three tries

It's like medieval times, and not the place where they serve turkey legs and do fake jousting.

If you took the realy bad poeple, the Boston Bomber, and after they had their day in court hang them on the town square at 6am and leave them up until 6pm word would soon get out and thugs would wise up or die. And that is a win win.
The Western world did this for hundreds of years, and it didn't stop crime. In fact, there has been a parallel reduction in violent crime with the reduction in the use of cruel and unusual punishments. The world is much safer than back when we publically executed people. Not saying there's a correlation, but the fact that crime rates haven't skyrocketed tells you that that kind of brutality isn't necessary.

How is there even a fricking debate in this thread?
What that mob did was worse than the girl robbing the taxi driver. Worse than her accomplice shooting the guy dead too.
