(CNN)A large crowd stands by as a teenage girl -- beaten and bloodied -- writhes on the ground, her body engulfed in flames.

"Add gasoline," someone shouts.

The shocking scene from a Guatemalan village went viral online

quote:

Residents who spoke with CNN affiliate Noti7 said the teenager in the video and two men robbed and shot dead a tax driver. The two men -- one of whom is believed to have fired the deadly shot -- escaped the crime scene, but a group of residents captured the girl and attacked her.

Uhh, no it isn't. Do I really have to explain the pitfalls of mob justice?

no, but its very creative.

I like it. bet if we did that here, TPOS individuals would quit loving thugging it. Not saying we should allow total mob rule, but swift and sure justice should exist- even if applied by the citizenry.

Different, yes. Does it justify lighting the girl on fire and watching her burn? No.

I bet you would love it if you were wrongly accused of a crime and instead of a trial you just got set on fire and beaten by a mob as swift punishment.

If you took the realy bad poeple, the Boston Bomber, and after they had their day in court hang them on the town square at 6am and leave them up until 6pm word would soon get out and thugs would wise up or die. And that is a win win.

no that would suck. But I don't do things that result in being wrongfully accused nor do I associate with those who do. So its not much of a risk for me now is it?

I don't know, you should ask all of the many people who are just like you that have been wrongly accused of crimes. There are some on this board, maybe they will enter the thread.

So far this year, there have been more than 20 similar mob burnings in the country

If they just keep burning people eventually they will burn a guilty one. Right?

Wrongly accused? Of fricking shooting a cab driver and being caught in the act and chased down right after? You do realize that this happened in the same moment right?

How could a mob possibly get this wrong? They are infallible. Except for the part where she did not kill anyone, they beat, burned and killed the correct 16 y.o. girl, right?
