The way I'm reading it, he "cut in line", had the signs he wouldn't keep up with the prescribed meds to make it a successful transplant, forced the hospital's hand by making it a "racial issue", and he had a bad rap sheet to go along with it. I don't think you should be having any dilemma~

so, you guys think that an otherwise healthy 15 year old should be denied a heart transplant because he has an arrest record?....
The problem is the screening process. They knew this dude was a POS to start with. Just knew he was going to screw up. It is a very long process going thru to get a heart. They know everything about you.

Did his insurance cover that transplant and the rejection meds?

not sure how I feel about the whole issue...
He was originally denied due to a poor record of adhering to medical advice and medicine-taking protocol for a waiting heart transplant patient.
To answer your question, just a past criminal record should not be a major reason.

The outrage is not directed at the parents, I feel, because, even if they are shitty parents, they are supposed to advocate for their child. The outrage should be directed at the SJWs who made this a ridiculous social justice issue just because they love to get their jimmies rustled.

Yes and obviously we would've been 100% correct in this case. The hospital obviously knew what they were doing. Let's leave it up to the professionals.

I liken it to giving a multiple dwi alcoholic a liver transplant. I actually know someone like this and they gave him 2 transplants. No that's not a typo.
His family has truckloads of money and were major donors to the hospital.

quote:Bull shite. The hospital is responsible for caving to the pressure of the "controversy" and moving this unreliable, worthless tPOS to the top of the transplant list. The hospital is just as guilty for having wasted this heart as anyone.
Well that was a waste of a heart, but one big I told you so for the hospital.
[Provided I understand the story correctly.]

They made there choice and it was NO, the hospital itself gave in.

At the time of the arrest Stokes was wearing an a court-ordered ankle bracelet — similar to the one he had been wearing in 2013 during the transplant — for possessing a stolen car.
Was this the first person on record who had an ankle GPS bracelet on them during transplant surgery?
I think he might be famous yet again...

And yet the black community is going to spin this and fault the white folk.
Seriously, none of the black community cared when he was alive, why care when he's dead.
