True. The only parents that need to be blamed are the negligent ones.

I know a single mom who busts arse working 2 jobs, raise her 2 kids well (does homework with them, family things, etc), and the little shits still do dumb things because of the friends they hang out with at school. She grounds them, takes away their phone/computers, and all the things you imagine. They still do it.

Can't blame her. She does everything she can. Sometimes it's just the kid is a little shite.

This is true, as a parent you can do all the right things raising them but at some point they will make decisions contrary to how they were raised. Some take it farther than others especially in this case.

Are you fricking retarded?

The post I replied to blamed the victims parents for not teaching her to stay away from strangers cars and all that.

I said the parents who raised rapists would be to blame.

Chadboi got triggered by what I said and not the original person who blamed parents.

I honestly think you might be.

so you unequivocally blamed the rapist's parents yet took no argument with

TH, honestly i feel like i'm in an argument with a 6 year old. Usually you bring the argument of an 11 year old to the table but this is embarrassing by even your standards.

In this case this will sound dumb but you believe teenagers require constant supervision? As one would say a toddler where you can't leave them alone? Asinine statement. Where are the parents. That's sooo laughable.

Some do require more than others, and the where are the parents isn’t just reserved for then and there, but where are the parents in their lives, and the answer to that these days is usually MIA.

First off, you have a teenage boy with harmonies in overdrive as teenage boys are, who clearly hasn’t been taught right from wrong when he gets to the point of raping a girl in his bedroom with his so called friends outside banging on the door to join the gang bang. That kid is wild and on the loose, and the parents either don’t know their kid, or know it and have surrendered.

Secondly, you have a ditzy little girl who thinks it’s a good idea to get in a car with three hard leg boys, go to the guy’s house and make out in his bedroom. The point of teaching this little girl better should have taken place a long time before that incident.

This is a parenting issue. But boy do I know how this generation loathes taking responsibility.

There are some inherently bad people. Teenagers/kids being little shits is common even with the best parenting.
Somewhere in all of this there is a lack of parenting though because problems happened on both sides...girl makes poor decisions against some obvious red flags, either she is incredibly stupid, or her parents fricked up and should definitely feel like it is partially their fault. I certainly would feel like I failed if my daughter made similar choices as their daughter. The rapist is a complete POS because no where in everyday America is raping ever okay or suggested as such. Likely there is a lack of parenting involved with him though. Maybe they did everything they should, but it didn't look like he had his arse kicked...

All of this is assuming everything in OP to be true.

My point is no matter how great of a parent you are, you can still have offspring that make bad choices; but, it's almost a garunteee if you're a shitty parent. Odds are at least one of these sets of parents suck at life.

There have been several comments saying she basically asked to be raped.

Raped.

Raped. After she said no.

If I go to a store in the hood, and I get murdered, did I ask for it? Deserve it?

Yeah, there are some pretty disgusting comments here.

Saying she asked for it is effectually excusing the rape.

I never said she asked for it. Poor decisions enhanced the likelihood of something bad happening which according to the article did happen. No means no but it's like saying if I throw away my guns, the world will be safer. No, I just made it harder to protect myself. Bad people are going to do bad things whether you present an easy target of opportunity or not.

Most 15 year olds don't have the wisdom to understand something that horrible could happen, and that's not necessarily bad parenting.

And maybe your attitude is the reason rape is so pervasive.

She definitely made a horrible decision but you can't blame that for the rape. Rape is 100% on rapists
